Paul, This patch will definitely be included in the Open MPI v1.3 series. Depending on when the group decides to release and when I get a chance to create the patch it may not make it for v1.3.0. Open MPI has a configure check for cr_request_file, and it 'should' default to fork/exec cr_checkpoint if it does not find the interface ('should' meaning that I haven't tested this in a long time, but the code is still in place). So I believe that 0.8.0 should work fine with Open MPI, if not slightly non-optimal. With that in mind I would continue with removing the cr_request_file interface in 0.8.0 as you had planned and I'll try to get a patch into the Open MPI v1.3 series as quickly as I can. Thanks for the offer. Josh On Dec 4, 2008, at 3:13 PM, Paul H. Hargrove wrote: > Josh, > > I see the trac item lists 1.3 as the Milestone for this fix.
