First, I apologize if you get multiple copies of this. I am sending to the list, plus bcc: to specific people I think are interested. I am pleased to say that as of earlier this week, BLCR is able to pass our simple 15-test suite (make check) on a dual Opteron running SuSE 9.1. There are still many things to be cleaned up before I put out a public release. However, my current development version has fixes for nearly all the bugs that have been reported. Therefore, I'd like to make a Beta available, especially to those of you who have asked about x86_64 support. I have every reason to think that this release will work on EM64T just as well as on Opteron, but have no such systems to try. So, we are very interested in hearing from anyone who may try this beta release on such a system. You can find both .tar.gz and .src.rpm version of blcr-0.4.1_b2 at http://mantis.lbl.gov/blcr-dist/ Users of Fedora Core 2 systems (and derivatives) should check the docs for info on the kernel-debuginfo package you will need to compile. -Paul -- Paul H.
