The checkpoint_at_lbl_dot_gov address to which you sent this query is an 
archived mailing list (http://www.nersc.gov/hypermail/checkpoint/).
One can join the list by sending the line "subscribe checkpoint" to 
majordomo_at_lbl_dot_gov

We do not have an open CVS server, but can provide snapshots on occasion 
to interested developers.
