    Hi all,

My name is Marco Cacre and I work in the R&D division of Olivetti S.p.a.

We are going to design a new cash register product based on ARM 9 and
    linux platform.

One of the requirements of this machine is to save the entire context of
an application when a power down occurs and restart it at the next power
    up.

Actually the machine architecture is base on H8S processor without MMU
and without any operating system, so these operations is easily done at
FW level working on sustained RAM.

We are working to understand how to implement this feature in linux and
we are focused on your checkpoint mechanism.

We know that your implementation cover the x86 architecture and some
guys are working on the porting to ARM, so we would like to know the
status of this activity and eventually evaluate with you the possibility
to join this job with them.

    Waiting for your feedback,

    Best regards,

    Marco Cacre
