Since you are the second person to ask, I should have clarified. This is the system default. The existing env variable and option to mpirun will over-ride this default. I was thinking something along the lines of a search order from 1 - 4: 1) If option to mpirun, use that 2) If env variable, use that 3) If configure option, use that 4) Use $HOME I believe the env variable is LAM_CHECKPOINT_FILE_DIR, but I could be wrong...
